Agate Belemnite

Beautiful belemnite from the deep northwest corner of Colorado, a rare locality within Moffat County, just 25 miles short of Dinosaur National Monument. Belemnite was an ancient, squid-like creature that ruled the oceans between 150 and 200 million years ago. These specimens have been replaced with agate, and showcase a dark, charcoal exterior and a more translucent amber-toned interior.
